Friday night saw
committee meetings, discussions on officer elections, and registration. |

Adviser Sam observes the festivities. |
We're
not sure why Scott and Ben were supervising Butterscotch digging a hole,
but we're sure there was a good reason for it. |
Scott,
Thomas, and Johnson hang on Charlie's every word. At least that's what
they told him. |

Saturday was
pretty full, with committee meetings, lunch, games, and the annual Crane
Bowl at the Activity Field. The Crane Bowl was, as usual, two
hours of rollicking big fun.

| Want
a good seat for the banquet? Be the first one there. The
Dining Hall looked great, with table decorations and programs. |
 |
 |
 |
|
Several tables
were filled with lodge memorabilia. This is just a small sample of
the memorabilia. |

Officer
elections went very smoothly. Each office was contested, but no
run-offs were required. Candidates made personal presentations to the
lodge, waited patiently while votes were tabulated, and then got to goof
around out back once the results were finalized. |

|
Young Kerby and
his team of Dining Hall Commandos did their usual OUTSTANDING job of
preparing the meal, keeping the Dining Hall in good order, and feeding
the Arrowmen like royalty. |

Opening
ceremonies at the banquet. Arrowmen and guests rise for the presentation
of the colors and the invocation. |

 |
 |
 |
| After
welcoming statements from Lodge Chief Tim, the guests and Arrowmen
helped themselves to the buffet lines. Shish-kabob (marinated
venison wrapped in bacon, smoked sausage, and chicken morsels grilled on
skewers), a fine green bean casserole, mushrooms caps filled with
spinach and mozzarella, sautéed in butter and browned, fresh hot rolls
with honey, a home made ice cream cake and real banana pudding.
You know it's real banana pudding when the bananas outnumber the pudding
in the bowl. |

Arrowman Estel Wilson (Colonel USAF, Retired), Scout
from Troop 27 in the early 1940's, held the assembly's full attention as
he told of camping with Troop 100 during WWII, flying missions in
Vietnam, doing missionary work in Central America, and meeting Martha
Raye. His stories held everyone spellbound. |

Wilson applauds the lodge, and B3AR thanks him for his presentation. |

| Sunday
dawned bright and sunny, but very, very cold. After a fabulous
breakfast of HUGH pancakes, sausage, bacon, fruit (including
strawberries and fresh pineapple), cereal, coffee, orange juice, and all
the trimmings, the lodge headed down to the chapel for religious
observance. We were joined by Scouts of Troop 14, who were camping this
weekend in Sioux campsite. After releasing the Arrowmen to return
to their homes, the new LEC buckled down to begin the year's work... |
