FREE ONLINE CALENDARS FOR PUSHMATAHA AREA COUNCIL UNITS

www.Pushmataha.Org

Would you like to offer the scouts, leaders, and parents an online calendar with all your unit’s meetings, trips, and events listed?  Would you like to have total control of your online calendar?  What if you could have a calendar like that at no cost to your unit, and no cost for the web hosting, and no advertising of any sort?

Our council’s website committee can now provide just such a calendar to your scout unit.   If you have a website, you can put a link to your calendar on your site.  If you don’t have a website, you can still offer your unit an online calendar, and your unit members can access it through the council website.

Maintaining the site requires no programming skills.  Anyone who can use a computer well enough to send and receive email or use a search engine can maintain your unit’s online calendar.

The council website uses the exact same calendar now on our website. To see how the calendar looks and feels, visit www.Pushmataha.org, and choose the first menu option, “Calendar”.

Some advantages of using this calendar are:

ü      It’s free

ü      You have total control over the content

ü      You can make one entry repeat (each week, first Thursday, etc.) as often as you wish

ü      Events can be ‘timed” events or “all day” events

ü      No advertising

ü      You can view your unit’s calendar side by side with the council calendar

ü      The calendar site hosting is free

ü      Online calendars reduce printing costs

ü      Printed calendars are quickly outdated

ü      Online calendars are always current

ü      You’ll never again hear “We didn’t know when or where” the event would be

ü      You don’t have to have a website to use this free benefit from the council

ü      It can be maintained at any time, from any computer with internet access

ü      You can allow more than one person to help maintain your calendar

Setting up your online calendar is easy.  Just contact Allen McBroom at Roundtable, or email him at Webmaster@Pushmataha.Org.
