Welcome to NYLT. Welcome to leadership, because, if you can see it, you can be it. In March of 2010, the Pushmataha Area Council will offer National Youth Leadership Training to young men to enable them to become better leaders of youth. This program has been redesigned and offers valuable training and information to the youth of our council. The NYLT course centers around the concepts of what a leader must BE, what he must KNOW, and what he must DO. The key elements are then taught with a clear focus on HOW TO. The skills come alive during the course as the patrol goes on a Quest for the Meaning of Leadership. All of this is wrapped up in a fun and challenging opportunity for our youth. NYLT is a six day course, broken up into 2 long weekends, March 19-21 and April 30 – May 2, 2010. The course is delivered in a troop and patrol outdoor setting with an emphasis on immediate application of learning in a FUN environment. NYLT Participants discover that leading themselves and leading others requires a vision – a picture of future success. Everyone will learn that they can see things in themselves that was once hidden and take away new found qualities that will enhance their troops, their families, and themselves. The course will be opened for registration during the Camporee at MSU. Please stop by the information table that weekend and let ask any questions you wish. Registration will be open to any youth in the council age 14 and first class rank. In the meantime, if you have any questions, please direct your inquiries to Brice Stubbs, Scoutmaster NYLT 2010 First Course, at techsavvy85@gmail.com or CeCelia Bowden, NYLT 2010 First Course Director at busycece@bellsouth.net. |
